This story came along because on the final News Day of the year and no-one would speak to me.
With the agreement of the editor Ryan and John our tutor I went off in search of a copy.
I brought it back to the news room and using my mobile on a tripod we played for about 30 mins to allow ourselves to get a feel for the game and see the different cards available. It was also interesting to see the reactions different tiles caused.
At the end i did a sort interview with Ryan and Aaron who were playing with me to hear their views.
Though it may not be seen as the most obvious news story on the day of launch when the footage was all taken and the story was written it was the story of the moment in Hull. There are very few Cities which are given the honor. Hull joined such cities as New York…and Leeds.
It was another great moment in a great year for our city.
I have found the two hundred word count a little challenging, but it is the footage that does most of the talking.
Monopoly is played by over 1 BILLION people world wide, in 114 countries and is printed in 47 languages.
It also came 5th in the most sold board games ever list
These figures show that Monopoly really is still holding its own as a family fav.
The target audience for this is quite hard to define as this game transcends the generations to rather than an age range, i was aiming for fans of board games.
